It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. “Reiki” pronounced (ray-key) is a very specific form of energy healing, in which the practitioner’s hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.”
In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Force Energy to the client. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki does not diagnose or treat any disease, but works holistically to promote balance and well being.

This includes the negative effects of chemotherapy, post-operative pain and depression as well as improving the healing rate and reducing the time needed to stay in the hospital. Reiki always helps and in some cases people have experienced complete healings which have been confirmed by medical tests before and after the Reiki treatments. However, while some have experienced miracles, they cannot be guaranteed. Stress reduction with some improvement in ones physical and psychological condition are what most experience. Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. It is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign. The same for a full Reiki Session

During a Reiki Healing Session the client will lay first on their back on a Reiki Massage table fully clothed. A warm blanket will be offered along with a pillow for the head and a pillow for under the knees (if desired). We offer Chair Reiki for those that cannot lie down comfortably. A quiet atmosphere with soft soothing meditative mu
During a Reiki Healing Session the client will lay first on their back on a Reiki Massage table fully clothed. A warm blanket will be offered along with a pillow for the head and a pillow for under the knees (if desired). We offer Chair Reiki for those that cannot lie down comfortably. A quiet atmosphere with soft soothing meditative music will be present to invite total relaxation. Winter months, find peace in warmth with the ambiance of the fireplace as you drift into a deep state of relaxation.
Normal feeling and sensations during a Reiki session may involve heat coming from the Practitioners hands, tingling, and extreme calmness. In some cases the client may even feel emotional. Please note this is all normal and healthy. When the front of the body is complete the client will be asked to turn over onto his/her stomach so Reiki may be done on the back area. Once the session is complete the client will be offered water as it is good to drink plenty of water after a Reiki Session. ~Total time for a session is 60 -90 minutes. ~ Safe for Children and of all ages. The clients Reiki Session may last several days after the session has been completed. Feelings of calmness, less tension, more clarity, more empathy, all with a loving manor have been reported. Reductions in ailments that are bothersome to us have also been mentioned.

When I first started practicing Reiki I couldn't wrap these explanations around my mind. Over years of daily practice, however, I have a better explanation of what is actually happening when we channel Reiki.
Instead of thinking of Reiki as an energy, I became more comfortable thinking of it simply as a practice that reconnects a person with their natural intelligence.
Something we have lost over the decades as we all know deep inside how to heal our bodies. I imagined that during a reiki session a special piece of information is passed on from practitioner to client. This piece of information may be a powerful reminder of the incredible inner wisdom we all have. It’s that same intelligence that heals our wounds without our effort, that tells seeds to grow into trees, that creates full moons or the sun to rotate the earth! It’s always there and it’s everywhere. When a practitioner places their hands on or near someone that person is given an opportunity to respond to this information. Each person will respond uniquely depending on what is possible at the time. How you will respond is entirely free will as our ability to self heal is always present All we need is a little prompt or suggestion to activate the healing response .
